Boys'Tunics: Early 20th Century--Unidentified American Boy

Figure 1.--This American boy looks to be 2 years old. The portrait is undated, but we would guess the early 1900s. It looks to be a photograph touched up by watercolors. This was a very popular style for boys at the time. Click ob the image to see the rest of the portrait.

This is charming portrait of a little boy sitting on a bench holding cat in his lap. This looks to be a photographic portrait hat was highlighted in watercolor paints, although it could also be simply a watercolor. The kitten does not look very realistic, perhaps it was a toy. This American boy looks to be 2 years old. The portrait is undated, but we would guess the early 1900s. It looks to be a photograph touched up by watercolors. This was a very popular style for boys at the time. This boy's belted tunic is white with blue trim painted on. Of corse there is no way to be sure that the trim really was blue, but it seems quite possible. He wears bloomer knickers, white long stockings and black strap shoes. YThe bloomer knickers went over the legs, but perhaps they were bought in a large size. Many boys wore their bloomer knickers above the knee.
