Clothing and Costumes Worn by Child Actors: Tim Stafford - (U.S., 1957?- )

Figure 1.--Tim played Luki in "Donnovan's Reef". He liked to wear his baseball cap and wasn't at all enthralled about his wide-brimmed sailor hat. Here his sister tells him to put his hat back on. A suggestion he did not at all appreciate.

I have very limited information on Tim Stafford at this time. He was born about 1952 and went to Columbus Junior High School (class of 1970). He looks very familiar and thought at first he appeared in several films, but only know of a few films he actually made. I don't have a complete list of his films at this time. The best known film he was in was the John Wayne film, "Donnovan's Reef" (1963). He played Luki Dedham and looks to be about 6-7 years old. His costuming included a wide-brimmed hat, Fauntleroy suit, and white stockings which he did not like. He preferred his baseball cap. Other films included "Hot Rods to Hell" (1967) in which he played Jamie Phillips and "aka 52 Miles to Terror" (1967). He also appeared in several major TV programs during the 1960s. I know nothing about his subsequent career.

Childhood

I have very limited information on Tim Stafford at this time. He was born about 1957 and went to Columbus Junior High School (class of 1970).

Career

He looks very familiar and thought at first he appeared in several films. I may be condusing him with Kevin Cocoran who was in a lot of Disney films.

Films

I only know of a few films Tim actually made. I don't have a complete list of his films at this time. The best known film he was in was the John Wayne film, "Donnovan's Reef" (1963). He played Luki Dedham and looks to be about 6-7 years old. His costuming included a wide-brimmed sailor hat, Fauntleroy suit, and white stockings which he did not like at all. He preferred his baseball cap to his sailor hat and complained that his "britches" were too tight. [HBC note: I don't know of any American boy at the time referring to his pants, short or ling, as "britches". It was a common term in the early 20th century.] Other films included "Hot Rods to Hell" (1967) in which he played Jamie Phillips and "aka 52 Miles to Terror" (1967).

Television

Tim also appeared in several major TV programs during the late 1950s and 1960s. He was never a regular on any program, but did make guest appearannces in some of the most imopofrtant TV oprograms of the time. He appeared in the "Bonanza" (1959) episode: "Destiny's Child" (episode # 7.19) January 30, 1966. He was in "The Fugitive" (1963) playing "Glen Pryor" in episode "Tiger Left, Tiger Right" (episode # 2.6) October 20, 1964. On "The Twilight Zone" he played Jeb Sharewood in "The Bewitchin' Pool" (episode # 5.36) June 19, 1964.

Adult Career

I know nothing about Tim's subsequent adult career.
