A modern American boy imagines he is involved with pirates and buried treasure during a long dream sequence. Thev boy who longs to be a pirate finds out he should be careful what he wishes for. Young Jimmy Warren dream of a life a piracy, which sounds like fun compared to his hum-drum life on the New England coast. One fateful day, he finds a bottle on the beach, releases the genie within, and finds himself aboard the flagship of Blackbeard himself. He soon finds out the pirates' life isn't all it's cracked up to be, and he searches for a way to get back to his own time. Not a very good movie, more like a long drawn out TV sitcom. I have seen him before in TV programs or films. His name is Charles Herbert. I don't have any details on his film career. The costuming is a good example of 1950s-60s American boys casual clothing. In the scenes I saw he was always wearing jeans. The little girl in the movie, in contrast, wears a velvet dress with lace trim and Mary Jane patent leather shoes. Here we see a Dell comic book adaptation of the 1960 United Artists kids' adventure film. The inside front cover of the comic book features five black and white captioned photographs from the movie (with a panel of film credits), and the inside back cover features a five panel black and white illustrated feature all about the ‘Pirates Of New England'.
