This is the classic tale of a British orphan abandoned in India. The most recent film version of the Kipling novel was a made for TV drama in 1984. A school Kim wears a light blue knickes suit, rather like a Norfolk suit, but without all the pleats. Ravi Sheth plays Kim. At this time we have few other details about this version of Kim.

Filmology

One wonders with all the stories that have been written that ewhy the producers felt that a new version of "Kim" needed to be ilmed. We would understand this if the first film version was poorly done. The Erol Flinn/Dean Stockwell 1950 version, however, was so well done that it is unclear just what the producers though they could add to the story. We have not seen this version. Hopefully readers will let us know if this version achieves anything of note or adds an interesting interpreation.

Cast

Ravi Sheth plays Kim.

Plot

We do not know how closely this film version follows the plot, but available images suggest that it does follow the basic plot.

The Novel

The fil is based on Rudyard Kipling's final and most famous novel--Kim. Kim follows a Tibetan monk while being trained in British espionage a part of the "Great Game" between the British and Russians in Central Asia.

St. Xavier

Kim's llama takes him to the St. Xavier boarding school so he can pursue a proper education. The image here shows him in the British-style uniform at the school. The inspiration for the school was La Martiniere College in Lucknow. It is one of Indi's most presigious private schools.

Costuming

At school Kim wears a very British boater and light blue knickers suit, rather like a Norfolk suit, but without all the pleats. This seems like a uniform that could have been worn at a British school in India, but we have no details as to what uniforms were actually worn.
