Danish Boys' Garments: Neckwear


Figure 1.--Here we seetwo brothers dresses in identical blouses and above the knee knickers with unusual bows. Their sister wears a plaid dress. All the children wear long stockings. W are not sure when this portrait was taken. A German reader estimates about 1900.

We note Danish boys wearing the same neckwear styles as in the rest of Europe. Danish styles appear heavily influenced by German styles. We have, however, only begun to acquire images depicting Danish neckwear. Here we see Danish boys wearing unusal neckwear, bows that look rather like wide neckties. We are unsure how to date the image, but would guess about 1900.
