Here are the details on the individual boys. All of the Marshall children would have worn essentially the same style--most likely union suits. There were slight differences for younger children. There were also seasonal differences. Boys and girls wore very similar styles.
Tom in the summer wears a waist union suit which doubled as underwear and a support garment. During the summer when he wore three-quarter socks the wauist union suit was just underwear. When the wether turned cold and he began wearing long stoikings, the waist union uit doubled as a stocking supporter. Some boys Tom's age wore underwaists as a support garment and if so needed separate underwear garments. Other children who did not wear support grments wore seprate underwear items.
