Here we see Korean school children on a field trip in 2000. We have no details about the school at this time. This is presumably a primary school, but some of the childrn look to be Kindergarten children. Perhaps some primary schools had attacjhed Kinddergartens. The school had a required uniform. Notice the vest-like jackets. Several children wear white tights. The hosiery and footwear worn appears to have beenu to the children and parents.

Location

This is a South Korean school, but we do not know where in South Korea it is located.

Field Trip

Here we see Korean school children on apparently on a field trip. They look as if they were on the way home after school.

Chronology

The photograph was taken in 2000.

Uniform

The school had a required uniform. There was no cap. Notice the vest-like jackets worn with white shirts. but no ties. The children both boys and girls wear the vest-like jackets. The boys wear black shorts and the girls black skirts. Several children wear white tights. The hosiery and footwear worn appears to have beenu to the children and parents. A reader writes, " I noted the hosiery the children are wearing at a Korean school. One of the girls is wearing striped knee socks, which I don't think we have seen before as part of a school uniform. The boys seem to be wearing white tights with shorts, but notice that, in at least one case, the white tights are patterned. I don't believe we have seen patterened tights in Korea or Japan before. Is this an innovation?" We have noted in both Korea and Japan that younger children wore a variety of tights and socks done in both stripes as well as with designs, often catoon characters on them.
