Here we have a portrait from an unidentified Casablanca school. It is labeled Maman. All we know about the portrait is that it was taken in 1929. The children look to be all or mostly French children. We are unsure what kind of schools Moroccan children attended at the time. One interesting aspect of the portrait is the berets several of the children are wearing. Only the boys wore them and they were worn in different ways. I have always wonders if there was a proper way to wear a beret. Apparently French boys did also. A few boys wear smocks. It certainly looks a lot coldder in Morocco than we thought. Casablanca is on the same lattitude as the southeastern United States. Several boys have coats. Ine boy has a heavy scave even though he is wearing short pants.
