Costuming

The costuming was a kind of mix of traditional and modern styles. At the Hogwarts school the students wear traditionally styled uniforms. We note one scene at the beginning of the film. Some school children lare shown eaving the zoo. They are wearing a typical school uniform including caps, now rarely seen, and long trousers, now common. The girls wear straw hats. This coes from the beginning of the movie when Dudley, who’s celebrating his birthday, visits the zoo with his parents and Harry. Dudley's private school uniform includes a boater.

Viewer Comments

A HBC reader reports that the film is "Great fun".

Another reader comments, "Harry Potter is a wholesome and magical journey for every one who is there along for a great ride in adventures, mystical beings, magic, goblins, dragons, child wizardsm and a huge wonderful castle to boot. This film has it all--a good storyline, interesting charactors, magic, and most of all it is a clean moralistic film which for a change is quite refreshing too. I would give this film 6 stars out of 5 and I know this sounds rather silly but it is a really well made film and for a change is true to the book."to.

Another comment, "It was a refreshingly innocent family film of which even I myself liked heaps. Harry Potter has a moral code and scruples too. I like the film and if the next one is as good as this one then Harry Potter will be tops."

A Potter fan writes, "The Socerer's Stone is really true to the book. I know because I have read it and love Harry Potter. Harry Potter is fun."
