We base this primarily on the period in which ambrotypes were the most popular. The hair and clothes also seem right for tht period. The photograph, however, could have been taken any time from the mid-1850s to the early 60s. Nor do we know where Issac lived. Indiana is a possibility because it was sold by a dealer in the sate. Like most ambros, it was housed in a protective case. I am not sure if it is done in leather or guttaperca.
