Griff Prather Knapp (United States, 1891)


Figure 1.-- Griff Prather Knapp was 4 1/2 years old in June 1891 when he had a cabinent card portrait taken. He wears a Little Lord Fauntleroy suit with a cut away jacket abd blouse with large ruffled collar. His floppy bow is rther restrained for the time. It is a rather small, white bow. He has short hair. The suit has knee pants with ornamental buttons and long stockings and low-cut patent-leather shoes.

Griff Prather Knapp was born in St. Louis in 1886. He was 4 1/2 years old in June 1891 when he had this cabinent card portrait taken. He wears a Little Lord Fauntleroy suit with a cut away jacket abd blouse with large ruffled collar. His floppy bow is rther restrained for the time. It is a rather small, white bow. He has short hair. The suit has knee pants with ornamental buttons and long stockings and low-cut patent-leather shoes. The portrait was taken by Strauss in St. Louis (Missouri). His father was Thomas McCartan Knapp (1860-1902) and his mother Eloise Emmeline Prather (1862-1930). He married Lucy Norvell in 1922. They had two children George Griff Prather Knapp and Eloise Knapp Hay. He died in Chicago during 1956.
