Figure 1.--We have found some class portraits from the 1950s. In the younger class during 1954, many of the boys wear smocks, some front buttoning and other side or back buttoning. The boys look to be about 6 years old. It is interesting that the teacher of the older boys is Monsieur Casson, and of the younger boys by his wife Madame Casson.

We do not know when the Ecole Privee St. Front was founded, but presume it was the late-19th or early-20th century. At this time we have only been able to find a few images anbd no written text about the school over time. We have found a few images. The images we have found are limited to a brief period from the 1940s-50s.

The 1940s

We note the Ecole Privee St. Front in 1947. The boys at the school in 1947 were dressed for winter with sweaters, jackets, and coats, but most seem to be wearing short pants. We also see some of the boys wearing knickers and long pants. Interestingly, the teacher wears a beret, but none of the boys. For some reason the beret rapidky went out of style for boys after World War II.

The 1950s

We have found some class portraits from the 1950s. In the younger class during 1954, many of the boys wear smocks, some front buttoning and other side or back buttoning. The image is on the previous page. The boys look to be about 6 years old. It is interesting that the teacher of the older boys is Monsieur Casson, and of the younger boys by his wife Madame Casson. The older class taught my her husband looks to made up of boys about 13 years old (figure 1). The boys wear sweaters and short pants. Many of the boys wear knee socks. At least one boy wears knickers, but we can't see what the boys in the rear are wearing. .
