Japanese School Tights: Colors

Japanese school tights
Figure 1.--Younger Japanese boys wore tights to school. We don't see many colors, only white or dark tights (black and navy blue).

We do not see Japanese boys wearing bright-colored tights to school. We do see younger boys wearing both white and dark-colored (black and navy blue) tights. We do not notice any other colors. Many of the boys seem to be private uniform schools where all the boys are wearing the same tights. A lot of our archieve seems to come from these privtre schools. Some are worn with the Japanese cadet uniforms. They were worn with matching tights. Private schools alo had blazer or suit-type uniform. Boys had new blazers or suits or their first day of school. Many were short pants outfits worn with tights, commonly white tights. White had a dressy association, both white tights and white knee socks. We think some state shools also required first day suits, but we are not positive about this. Hppefully our Japanese readers will tell us more about this.
