Tamagawa Gakuen is one of Tokyo's most respected private schools. The Junior High School is referred to as the Llower Secondary School.

Foundation

Tamagawa was founded in 1929 at the beginning of the Depression and the years leading to World War II.

School

Tamagawa is a private school. It offers a complete education system covering kindergaten through undr-graduate university degrees. There are about 10,000 students of all ages, from 3 year old children to adults, learning, studying, and conducting research.

Goal

Tamagawa Lower Secondary School says taht its goal is to lay a firm foundation for the Upper Secondary Division, by learning effectively through the curriculum according to their proficiency, experience and independent research, as well as developing their personality. The school seeks to broaden their knowledge and improve their skills keeping while maintaining a balance, 'good mind,' 'strong will,' 'strong body,' and 'good scholarship.' The students are taught to be aware of their own role and responsibility as a member of a group, acquire a willingness to lead a part voluntarily, and prepare for the age of full-scale character building. The school has been implementing 'The Whole Man Education' since our school's foundation. Our goal is harmonized superior character building based on 6 branches, scholar, moral, art, religion, body, and life. There are many school events at Tamagawa because they are needed for "The Whole Man Education". The students learn it's important to make good plans through their experiences and make an effort to reach their goals.

Location

Tamagawa is located some 30 kilometers west of Metropolitan Tokyo. On the 120 acre campus.
