Here we have a tin-type portrit in a paper envelope. By this time, tintypes were no longer being cased. We suspect it was taken in the late-1860s. The children are identified, but the writing while neat is not real clear. The oldest of the three children is 8 years old. The other two look to be about 4-6 years old. Normally we would assume that the children were siblings, but as we have their names, one seems to be a cousin. The girls wear plain, similar dresses with a simple ruff. The boy wears a patterned blouse, an under shirt, and baggy pants. As best we can figure out, the names are: Jua Sleull, Ioiu Sleull, and Mary Horrell. (The first names seem unlikely. We will load the back of the paper emvelope in case reafers may qnt to dechiper the writing. The outfits seem similar to what we see in the 1850s, but no longer common by the 70s.
