This English CDV idenified the boy, but the writing is not clear. The boy's name is something like Edwin Palunier. A British reader suggest that Edwin Pallner is more likely. He is probably correct. Local reades have a beer idea as to common names. Edwin was photographed July 5, 1877. Edwin has long hair but it is not done in ringlets. He wears a sailor suit wih white collar and a vest. He has lace up high-top shoes. He is 5 yars old. We might have gussed that he was a little younger. Edwin holds a whip, a studio prop often given to boys. The studio is J. MaclArdy in Oswestry in Shropshire, near the Welsh border.
