We mostly see Italian boys wearingh single breasted jackets in the 1930s. Some of the jacets had patch pockets. Boys wore suits with open collar shirts without neckwear. We think that this was common summer style. The suit the boy here us wsearing does appear to be done in a light summer weight material (figure 1). Our Italian archive, however, is not large enough to assess relative prevalence. We note boys generally wearing short pants suit in the 1930s. This was not universal, but was by far the most common.
