This unidentified American boy was photographed by A. Werner in Brooklyn, New York in 1908. The unidentified boy wears a knee pants suit. By this time we begin to see an increasing number of boys wearing knicker suits. We are not sure, but this may be a confirmation portrait. The props here are interesting. The tropical plants and white furniture help date the image to the turn-of-the 20th century. Note the photograph of a man on the table. There has to be some family connection I should think, most likely his father. We wonndr why motheris not there. Presumably his father has past away. Also notice the item the boy is holding. It looks like a book, but the cover seems to have an illustration, which probably excludes a Prayer Book or Psalter. Lives of the Saints, maybe.
