It was a tradition in Washingon beginning in the 1930s for the children of diplomats say 'Merry Christmas' to people all over the world. It was a Chritmas greeting from the vsons and daughters of diplomats stationed Washington, D.C. It was sponsored by the Washington Board of Trade's Greater National Capital Committee in cooperation with the National Broadcasting Co. tvwas billed as a children's prty, bu t des not look much like a party. It was more like ahoo hoot bcue mny of the children re dressed in their nationl costumes. And then the children stepping up to themichraphone to make Christmas greetings. There is abnd, but we nohing in the way of a children's Christmas party. The International Kids' Christmas Party was part of efforts to bring together children from various cultural backgrounds, promoting unity and solidarity during the war. Such events provided a sense of normalcy and joy for children affected by the global conflict, and they often included dignitaries, performances, and exchanges of cultural traditions.
