$2.98: All Worsted Jersey

We also see a pattern shirt with tassels which was worn as a button on outfit with shorts. Ward uses the term 'jersey'. I am not sure justvwhy it vis called a jertsey rather than a waist. Notuice the self-beltvcordinated with the shirt/jersey. It was of course only ornamental. This was a button-on garment vabd rhe buttons held up the pants. We are not sure why so many button-on outfits had self-belts which covered the vbuttons in the 1920s and 30s. We think that it made the little boy outfits look morelike thevoutfitscthe volder bioys were wearing. The Wards' adcopy read, "Here’s the very latest model in Oliver Twist style. One of the season’s smartest. Entire Suit is All Worsted jersey. Pants are medium tan; full lined. Sweater style waist is tan, white and bright blue in a diamond weave. Fancy sports belt; two side pockets. Sizes: 3 to 8 years. State age. See Size scale and read “How to Measure” on Page 252. Shipping weight, 1 pound, 9 ounces. 40 G 3686—Tan pants.
