We notice a range of play clothing offered in 1932. Play wear were casual styles, including shirts and pants, and done in both pre-teen and teen sizes. The Minneapolis Knitting Works offered playwear including swimsuits done in a single strap style. The range of clothes was called Jungle, a company trade mark. We suspect that the popular Tarzan films were a part of the inspiration here. The compsny's Jungle line were for 'little tots' (2 to 8 years) and older boys (8-16 years). The illustration focuses on the swimsuits. At the time boys and men's swimsuits still came with tops, but the stops were becoming smaller and by the end of the decade were no longer required. We do not see much of the various other playwear garments offered by the company. This was a magazine ad (figure 1). We are not sure which magazine. That was a style we do not commonly note in the photographic record. The company also offered underwear to go with the summer playwear.
