Figure 1.--This photograph showed boys at a Temesvár Timisoara boys school doing drill. Timisoara was under Hungarian Administration. Although the mumber of ethnic Hungarians was mall. we think the school was probably taught in Hungarian. Perhaps some of our European readers will know more about that. This photograph showed boys at a Temesvár Timisoara boys school doing drill. Timisoara was under Hungarian Administration. Although the mumber of ethnic Hungarians was mall. we think the school was probably taught in Hungarian. Perhaps some of our European readers will know more about that. This is the inspription on the back. The inscription on the back is written in Hugarian. It is the name of the person, tpresunably the boy the arrow is pointing to. In Hungary it is customary to use the family name first. Lajos is a common name in Hungary. Before World War II there was a famous Hungarian Gypsy band in Europe led by Kovacs Lajos. The American comedian Ernie Kovacs must have been of Hungarian origin. The IV may be the date, perhaps i904. So we have Lajos Laguly, who's name in Hungary is Laguly Lajos. The school was in the city of Temesvár, after Worlkd War I it became the Romanian city of Timisoara.
