There are many different juvenile suits worn by younger boys that we see being worn with strap shoes. The boy here with the goat wears a suit wuth an open collar look. They 19th century suits seem most common in the late-19th century. The 20th century suits mistly date to the early part of the cntury (1900-40). The suit the boy with goat hee is a good example (figure 1). They are many different styles. Some may be home sewn rather than ready made. Some may be plays on Fauntleroy suits, sailor suits, Oliver Twist suits and other familiar styles. Some are suits that seem one of a kinds, srtles we dp not see again. The late-19th century suits were done with knee pants and knickers 1880-90). The early 20th century suits commonly were uually done with knee pants or short pants (1900-40). They made have some similarity to standard boys suits.
