Eaton's offered a range of younger boys' suits. It is an interesting mix of older styles along with sime that look rather modern. There are both standard sack suits and the the lapelless jackets that buttoned at the collar, a style not usually named for some reason. There was also a sailor suit. We note single breadsted jackets and jackets done with Norgfolk styling. The suits were done in knee-length short pants, kneepants, and knickers. The knickers are referred to as bloomer pants. All the boys in the ad are shown wearing black or brown long stockings. These suits are for boys from 3 to 10 years old, although this varied somewhat friom style to style. They covered the range from pre-school to the primary grades to age 10 years. This ad appeared on p. 160 of the Eaton's Fall and Winter catalogue for 1927.

3 to 8 years. $3.50. 94-577 Popular Middy Suit in good weight All-Wool Blue Cheviot English Serge. The ad copy read, "All-Wool Blue English Serge $4.45. Sizes 21 to 28 chest for ages 3 to 8 years. 94-572 There is probably no material so much in demand for boys' wear as Blue Cheviot Serge. Mothers realize that, in addition to dressy appearance, this material provides long, satisfactory service. Suit, as illustrated, is made from a good weight all-wool cheviot-finish Blue English Serge, and is carefully tailored and strongly lined throughout. Splendid value in this neat yoke and knife-pleat suit. Price $4.45."
Second column: The ad copy read, "Special Value English Brown Tweed $3.65. Sizes 21 to 28-inch chest, for ages 3 to 8 years. 94-570 Strongly-made, serviceably-lined suit in fancy mixture Brown English
tweed that will give satisfaction in wear. A low-priced suit of splendid
value. Tailored in the dip yoke, inverted pleat model that is so suitable to smaller boys. Material used is of close weave and of Wool and Cotton mixture." These collar buttoning suits were popular in the early 20th century. Interestingly there does not seem to have been a proper name for these suits. The nglisg in the name seems to refer to the tweed and ant not the suit style. And it does not seem to have been used in other atalogs.

Third Column: Notice the use of the term "junior suit". We are unsure just what the term was for these younger boys' suits made without lapels and buttoning at the collar. I'm not sure how widely used this term was. The ad copy read, "Popular Style Junior Suit in Smart Model. $5.00. Sizes 24 to 28-inch chest, for ages 6 to 10 years.
94-568 The Junior Suit is specially designed to provide a manly style for
younger boys who do not desire a regular style Juvenile Suit. Brown Union
