Clothing

The boy here is wearing a kneepants suit with Norfolk styling, although there are no belt with the jacket. I'm not sure about the color, but would guess a shade of bown or green. green We do not know the color od the suit, but it has a stripped pattern. We are not sure about the color. It looks similar wto the color of the suit, perhaps with a yellow sripe. With his suit the boy has he has an Eton collar and large floppy bow with stripes. Notice the cap. I am not sure what the cap was called. It may have been valled a "yacht cap", but we are not sure about this. It is a darker color than the suit, but was probably coordinated with it. He wears long black stockings with the suit.

Conventions

The boy here looks to be wearing a new suit. We note that mothers often had boys about this age wear a new suit with Eton or rugffled collars or floppy bows for a year or two and then would wear the same suit with less juvenile collars and neckwear.
