This postcard back snapshot was a cyanotype of an Amrican boy, Ned Laufer. This wa a minor photograohic type, but we see quite a few around the turn-of-the 20th cenyury. Ned looks to be about 5, perhaps 6-years old. It was probably made about 1905-10, which we say becsuse of the bow. Ned is wearing a classiic white tunic suit with bloomer knickers. The outfit is completed with a black belt. Very common with tunic suits. We can't tell if it is a sailor suit or a Russian blouse tunic suit, probably a Russian tunic suit. He wears it with a floppy bow and black long stockings. It looks like he lives in a leafy suburb, suggesting a substantial middle-class family with substasntial yards. Notice the huge hedge.
