We have a pencil notation identifying Hubert Vannoy. It could be the boy or his grandfather, probbly the boy. The family was from Muncie, Selma, and Redkey in central Indiana. Indiana. The family names from this estate sales where this portrait was found were mainly Vannoy and Grody. The cabinet card portrait was taken at the Henderson studio in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The boy looks to be about8 years old. He wears a collar buttoning jacket wih Norfolk sytyling. We still see a lot of pre-teen boys wearing collar-buttoning jaxkets. The Fauntelroy Craze was waining in the 1900s decade, but we still see Fauntleroy collars and floppy bows. Norfolk styling was beginning to take off. Mother has added a large ruffled Fauntleroy collar with a floppy bow, probably light blue. The portrait is undated, but the oval ctyle of he cabinent card duggest that it was taken about 1905. Motice the hair done in a kind of roll curl.
