It is of particular interest because we see the students in a open class room, in this case room 310. The teacher and students are present, wonderful examples of what children were wearing in the late-1920's. One boy wears knickers and brightly patterned knee socks. but the others boys seen to be wearing long pants, although it is a liitle difficult to tell. The girls wear dresses and both long stockings and ankle socks. Notice the airplabne. That was undiubtedly a model of the 'Spirit of St Louis'--Charles Lindburg's famed plane that he flew across the Atlantic in 1927. A British reader writes, "Interesting photograph. I can see model making and studying plans. Quite revolutionary practical activity for the 1920s. Practical lessons involving group activity in the 1920 was experimental in Britain too. There was a head teacher in Bolton whose school curriculum was based around project work in the classroom. I was reading about him not all that long ago. His school was popular with the community and it was a highly respected school in the town."
